About York Street Christian Church: York Street Christian Church (YSCC) is a vibrant congregation located in Muskogee, Oklahoma, with a heart for ministry and a vision to make disciples of all ages. We are committed to fostering a community where individuals of all generations can grow in their faith, serve others, and live out the love of Christ. Our church is located near a community full of potential, particularly in the local apartment complex next to the church, which is home to many young people. We are looking for a passionate Youth Pastor to take on the exciting challenge of building a dynamic, vibrant youth ministry that impacts lives both inside and outside the church.

Job Summary: We are seeking a Youth Pastor who is enthusiastic about mentoring and discipling young people. This role will focus on creating a safe, engaging environment for youth in grades 6 through 12, as well as young adults and college-aged students. The Youth Pastor will provide leadership, spiritual guidance, and educational opportunities that promote personal growth, foster community, and introduce youth to the transformative love of Jesus Christ. The ideal candidate will have a passion for outreach and will be dedicated to investing in the next generation of believers, helping them grow spiritually, relationally, and missionaly.

Key Responsibilities: Youth Ministry Leadership: Oversee all aspects of youth ministry, including weekly youth group meetings on Wednesday nights and Sunday mornings, where solid Biblical teaching and engaging activities will be provided. Preaching and Teaching: Prepare and preach youth-focused messages during Sunday Youth Services, providing sound theological direction in accordance with the beliefs of YSCC. Program Development: Lead and develop dynamic programs for youth, including Bible studies, camps, conferences, mission trips, and service projects that foster spiritual growth, discipleship, and fellowship. Mentoring and Discipleship: Serve as a mentor and spiritual guide for youth, cultivating strong relationships built on trust and accountability. Lead by example with a relational, compassionate, and Christ-centered leadership style. Leadership Development: Identify and train student and adult youth leaders to assist with ministry programs, encouraging their growth as leaders within the church community. Outreach and Community Engagement: Actively engage with youth in the local community, particularly in the apartment complex next door to the church, building relationships and creating opportunities for outreach and evangelism. Collaboration with Church Leadership: Work closely with the Senior Pastor and elders to ensure that the youth ministry aligns with the broader goals and mission of the church. Participate in church-wide initiatives, particularly those focused on family life, marriage, and parent-child relationships. Budget and Facility Oversight: Oversee the Youth Ministry budget and ensure proper use of funds for activities and programs. Take responsibility for maintaining and creatively using youth ministry facilities and grounds. Transportation: Drive the church vehicle to transport youth to and from church on Wednesday nights and for other events as necessary.

Qualifications: Spiritual Commitment: A deep, personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a clear calling to youth ministry. A heart that is fully committed to loving God with all your heart. Experience and Skills: Previous experience in youth ministry, teaching, or leading youth programs. Ability to engage youth with meaningful Bible teaching, relevant to their lives and needs. Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to connect with, inspire, and lead young people. Patience, empathy, and the ability to work with diverse groups of youth from various backgrounds. Leadership and Vision: The ability to create and execute a vision for a growing and vibrant youth ministry. Enthusiastic about building the ministry from the ground up, with a focus on outreach and building relationships. Background Checks: Must pass a background check and provide references. Transportation: Valid drivers license and the ability to drive the church vehicle to pick up youth as needed.

Hours of Employment: Wednesday: 5:00 PM 8:00 PM (Youth Group and Activities) Sunday: 8:45 AM 11:45 AM (Youth Ministry during Services) Additional Hours: As needed for outreach, event planning, and building the youth ministry. Flexibility: Ability to dedicate additional time for outreach in the local community, particularly in the nearby apartment complex, to help grow the youth ministry. Compensation Compensation will be discussed during the interview process based on experience and qualifications.
