Worship Pastor

Status: Part-time, Hourly, up to 20 Hours per week, flexible.

General Purpose of Position: To train, equip, and lead the congregation of Olathe Christian Church in the act of worship. We have a strong, talented, and experienced group of volunteers who are currently leading us in worship. We are looking for a Worship Pastor who will encourage and strengthen our volunteers and serve God humbly alongside them.

Organizational Relationship and Supervision: The Worship Pastor reports to the Senior Minister directly, with oversight from the OCC elders. The Senior Minister provides an annual evaluation of the Worship Pastor’s performance. The Worship Pastor will be subject to the Staff Handbook provided by the Leadership and in accordance to the part-time position.

Attendance at the following meetings is expected: Worship team practice, weekly staff meetings, leadership conferences/training, and staff retreats.

The Primary Task: This position exists for the purpose of helping the mission of OCC move forward. This will be possible through: Equip the members of the congregation to worship God Build setlists of songs that prompt appropriate worship Through the act of worship, teaching worship to the congregation Working closely with existing and new volunteers, enabling each person to also do the work of equipping, training, and leading the congregation.

Duties:

• Putting together weekly worship teams
• Build weekly setlists
• Maintain and adjust sound and the sound system
• Adding slides to ProPresenter
• Using Planning Center Ministry Support:
  • Assist ministry leaders as needed
  • Assist Pastoral Staff as needed
  • Assist Deacons as needed
  • Assist Elders as needed

Qualifications: 

• Baptized believer in Jesus Christ
• Independent Christian Church background (preferred)
