About the Organization
Organization Description
First Christian Church (we go by “1C” around here) is a growing, vibrant, and down-to-earth church in Jacksonville, Illinois. We currently average 1300 in attendance on the weekends. Our mission is simple: CONNECTING UNCONNECTED PEOPLE TO JESUS CHRIST. We love God, love people, and don’t take ourselves too seriously.
We’re seeing God do some incredible things here – new believers, life change, growing ministries – and we believe worship is a key part of the journey. We’re building a culture where worship is authentic, excellent, and accessible to everyone, no matter where they are in their faith.
We gather for services on Thursdays at 6:00 pm and Sundays 8:00, 9:15 & 10:30 am, and our worship team plays a big role in setting the tone for each gathering. The 8:00 Sunday worship is a traditional service with hymns, while the other services are all contemporary with our worship band.
