About the Organization

Organization Description

Trinity Church itself is a century old, historically Lutheran church. However, we are slowly making very intentional efforts to step out of the box we often find ourselves in with Lutheran background, and move towards a more non-denominational style in the bulk of our worship. We have seen tremendous growth after a very hard period of stagnation, which occurred before my time here. In the 2010s Trinity averaged 800-900 people on a weekly basis, dropping to as low as 300 in the later years. However with a completely new church building finished in 2020, and renewed passion an focus from our staff in this post-covid world our excellent team of 13 staff members, we have seen wonderful growth in the past year alone, averaging between 400-600 on a weekly basis, with an estimated 800-900 regular members and attendees. Our worship services consist of 1 traditional Lutheran service at 8am on Sundays, attended by around 40-60 people each week, and ran entirely by part-time staff and volunteer members. Its a wonderful service type that still has a massive draw on that community that calls Trinity Church their home. We also offer 2 contemporary services at 9 and 10.30am. These are very standard, modern worship services, utilizing the most current worship music and worship elements, often mixed with beautiful traditions from our history, like our communion style, liturgy creeds, and other unique elements to our church.

About the Position

Position Description

The intern/resident we are looking for would work directly with me to grow as a student pastor, someone whose job is to lead the church in our efforts to be obedient to God and provide students with a place to worship and grow in community. My hope for them is to lead student ministry programming for the summer, while also serving in other elements of church work to gain a comprehensive understanding, alongside personal study of literature and materials provided by our staff, as well as materials provided by the staff of another local church internship program, which is much larger than ours. They would also participate in all of our summer events/camps, VBS, etc.to continue building their skills and knowledge of church work. Additionally, I would have them meet with church members to develop relational skills and work very closely with me on student ministry, including practical training and high expectations for their performance.
