The candidate to serve as Pastor of Norton Christian Church must have a calling to serve a small church in a small town in the mountains.The present Pastor will retire in 2026 after 42 years of ministry with NCC. We would like to bring the new Pastor on board in 2025 to serve as Associate Pastor and transition him to assume the duties of Pastor in 2026.The Pastor of Norton Christian Church will serve with the Elders and Deacons in shepherding, teaching and equipping the members of NCC to carry out our Mission to point people to faith in Christ and provide people a place in Christ.The Pastor will lead worship and preach at our 8:45 and 11:00 Worship Services and teach in our 10:00 Disciple School.He will participate in our Monthly Business Meetings and Leadership Meetings.He will host a radio ministry called "Bright Spots," if he and the Elders decide to continue this ministry after the present Pastor retires.He will work with our Children's Ministry Volunteers in providing Christian Education and Ministry Activities such as our Back to School Block Party and Trunk or Treat.He will work with our Barnabas Breakfast Men's Ministry.He will work with our EduCare Preschool in an advisory role.He will provide pastoral care, officiate weddings (at his discretion) and funerals.He will work with our Livestreaming Ministry and oversee our website.He will work with area Pastors and Churches in various community ministries and events, such as our annual Community Thanksgiving Service and Meal Ministry, our Transient Fund Ministry and our partnership with the Wise County Health Departments Food Distribution Ministry.
