Position Description
Position Title: Full-time Faculty
Department: Academics
Reports to: Chief Academic Officer
A. Summary
The role of faculty of Ozark Christian College is one of spiritual leadership as well as academic instruction. Faculty are expected to meet the teaching/classroom expectations, research/service expectations, and participate in shared governance of academics as outlined in the Faculty Handbook. See letter G below for specific areas of interest.
B. Primary Duties and Responsibilities
· Teach a course workload calculation of 24 credit hours per year, as assigned by the deans of undergraduate studies and Lincoln Seminary. This workload may include multiple modalities (online, residential, etc.) and multiple levels (undergraduate and seminary), depending on faculty credentialing and institutional needs
· Available for constituent service in order to bless and maintain a close relationship with the church, model Christian service, and recruit future students
· Accept committee assignments, complete student learning assessments, and participate in other activities consistent with being a member of the faculty
· Post and maintain hours available for student consultation and mentoring
· Advise an appropriate number of students
· Affirm agreement with the Statement of Faith and the Statement on Marriage and Sexuality.
· Abide by all the policies and procedures in the OCC Personnel Handbook and Faculty Handbook

E. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
· A master’s degree with at least 18 credit hours in the area of instruction is required.
· A terminal degree in the relevant field of study is preferred. For teaching in seminary programs, a terminal degree is required.
· Those with previous experience in full-time ministry and/or experience teaching at the collegiate level will be given preference.
F. Work Environment and Physical Requirements
This role will routinely work indoors in classrooms, their offices, meeting rooms, and in libraries. They may stand for long periods while teaching in the classroom, but otherwise they may remain seated while at work. The professor will regularly be on a laptop or computer for many of their primary duties. The ability to work from such electronic devices without extreme eye strain or fatigue is a must. In-office work will require the use of standard office equipment such as copiers, landline telephones, and printers. Must be able to travel occasionally for college-related business.
