About the Organization

Organization Description

On September 12, 1976 a group of individuals dedicated to New Testament teaching Christianity met to organize a new congregation in Frankfort. These people were the nucleus of what is now known as Community Christian Church. For fifteen years the congregation met at the Phillippe Senior resource Center. A six acre piece of property was purchased in 1985 and building in which to meet was erected in 1991. The building has a seating capacity of 185. The lower level consists of the sanctuary, a fellowship area, an office area, a class area and rest facilities. The upper level is comprised of five rooms for class rooms and office space, a nursery and rest facilities. There has been a building added near the main facility that is currently used for youth study and activities. The property has a paved parking lot as well as an extended gravel area.Community Christian Church is a part of the restoration Movement of independent Christian Churches/ Churches of Christ and believes strongly in the priesthood of all believers. A board of elders and deacons oversees the operation of the church. Both men and women take active roles in the leadership of the congregation. The Lords Supper is served each Sunday. Our service uses a combination of traditional hymns and contemporary music. We currently support 8 missions by giving a minimum of thirteen percent of our projected budget to their cause.
