To Whom it May Concern: Macedonia Christian Church is a non-denominational church located in historic Berkeley County and is about 30 miles north of Charleston, South Carolina; located in the Francis Marion National Forest, a hunting and fishing paradise. It has been in existence for 140+ years (founded in 1881). Numerous members of our congregation are part of families who have been members of our church since it was started. Our church is modeled after the early church as written by Paul in the Book of Acts. We believe in Jesus Christ, baptism and in the strength and truth found in the Bible. We follow a traditional format which includes congregational hymns, including live and recorded music, numerous prayers, communion, an offering time, a sermon, a childrens sermon, and an invitation opportunity. Even though we are an average size congregation, we have a strong history of supporting missions throughout the world. Our Board of Deacons make decisions regarding the church and we look to employ a full-time minister and a full-time youth minister. We have Sunday School classes prior to the morning service and Sunday evening classes. On Wednesday night we have services (non-summer months) which include a meal and classes for all ages. Throughout the year the church has numerous fellowship events for all ages which include a Valentines Banquet, Labor Day weekend picnic, Secret Destinations, New Years Eve Party, Vacation Bible School, Fall Festival, and many others. Our minister of 57 years passed away in October of 2023. We have been using numerous people to fill in since then. Over the years, he served as the senior minister as well as the youth minister. The youth minister position is open as well.
