Lead Pastor

Fairfield Christian Church is an Independent Christian Church and was established in 1860. FCC is located on the southeast side of Kokomo, Indiana. In her 164 years of ministry, she has impacted the lives of hundreds for Jesus Christ locally and around the world. FCCs childrens ministry and Student ministry seek to equip the family to live out the Christian life every day. We have two worship services, a traditional service as well as a contemporary service. We also have a non-traditional service that weve termed a Discussion Service. Not only does FCC have adult Sunday school classes, but also small groups where people do life and study the Bible together. In 2023 FCC began hosting ACACIA ACADEMY, a Classical Christian School (K-8), with approximately 65 students. Our Senior Minister has led our church for over 14 years and will be retiring in August 2025 and we have begun to search for the next pastor to lead our church into her next chapter.

About the Lead Pastor Role: The Lead Pastor, along with the elders, staff, and other leaders will refine FCCs mission, vision, and implementation of strategic plans.Preaching and teaching Gods Word: Preaching is the primary task of the Lead Pastor The Lead Pastor will be responsible for encouraging and challenging the church in worship services from Gods Word as well as seeking to encourage and challenge those who dont have a relationship with Christ. The Lead Pastor will make sure that a preaching schedule is put in place along with other pastors as well as guest preachers. The Lead Pastor will officiate funeral and weddings and conduct premarital counseling.Shepherding: The Lead Pastor will work along with the elders, staff, and other leaders to strive to meet the needs and provide pastoral care for those who call Fairfield Christian Church home. The Lead Pastor sets the example for building relationships, working to spiritually strengthen members and attendees through preaching, teaching, vision-casting, prayer, and providing oversight as we seek to help move people toward a deeper relationship with Christ and one another. The Lead Pastor will oversee and conduct performance reviews with staff members.Counseling: The Lead Pastor will provide counseling, or referral to Godly counselors for those who need specialized help. He will build relationships with Godly counselors in the community so that he can recommend when appropriate. The Lead Pastor will provide pre-marital counseling for couples who seek him out to conduct their marriage ceremony.Qualifications and Experience: Be able to communicate Gods Word effectively and clearly to the congregation. Be a passionate, competent teacher of the Bible and foundations of the Christian faith. Can connect with people relationally and foster healthy interpersonal relationships among the people. Possess the ability to teach and model how Scripture impacts our lives and how we live. Be knowledgeable of and committed to the Restoration Movement principles of the New Testament Church. Exhibit strong communication skills and the ability to supervise and work well with others. Ability to lead and manage a staff effectively. A bachelors degree is required and highly preferred that the degree is from a Restoration Movement college/university. Previous experience in the Lead Pastor role, or an Associate Pastor Role. Biblically qualified according to 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:6-9.
