At Connection Pointe, our mission is to connect people to Jesus and each other. We are a Bible based, authentic, and welcoming church. Connection Pointe was founded in 1837. In November of 2017, John Dickerson was welcomed as the 36th Lead Pastor of Connection Pointe. Since then, God has blessed Connection Pointe with the continued growth of more than 4,000 attending onsite each weekend and 6,000-12,000 digital viewers each week. Connection Pointe continues to be a unique, multi-generational church with an extraordinary vision for the future. Our staff reflects this. We are multi-generational, hardworking, and humble. About the Position
Position Description
As a High School Director, you are an integral member of the Students team. The High School Director is responsible for spiritually leading the High School Ministry with a small groups focus and by getting students to recognize their gifts and begin using them for God’s glory.
Who We Are: Our Connection Pointe Staff Team is a unified group of imperfect people who tirelessly work to connect people to a saving relationship with Jesus and life changing relationships with each other. As individuals we have a personal relationship with Christ and are committed to the vision of Connection Pointe Christian Church.
How We Lead:
- We give ministry away: as staff we are always looking for faithful volunteers who can step up into roles that allow us to expand and replicate ourselves. We look for leaders who can lead leaders.
- We work hard and prioritize our families: with the exception of Easter, Christmas and other “all hands” pushes, we work 5 days a week and have an extended two-day sabbath from Friday through Saturday for weekend required employees that allows us to leave work at work and be with our families.

Responsibilities:
- Connecting People to Jesus
- Study, apply, and communicate biblical truths in a way that is relevant to students, deepening their understanding of and love for Jesus.
- Champion the Connection Pointe vision to “Raise the Strongest Generation” ensuring the effective execution and integration of Worldview content into the Brownsburg High School ministry.
- Collaborate with the collective Student Ministry Team, in the planning and execution of strategic events designed to reach students near and from Christ.
- Connecting People to Each other Recruit, train, and equip a dedication team of adult volunteers to invest and lead small group discussions with their assigned students during weekly programming.
- Create opportunities – through events, special initiatives, and weekly programming – that foster meaningful connections between students and leaders.
- Identify student leaders within the ministry, create environments for deeper discipleship, and provide opportunities to lead and serve their peers for God’s glory.
Personal Growth:
- Consistently seek personal and professional growth through prayer, study, and participation in conferences, workshops, and training opportunities
- Maintain a healthy work-life balance and prioritize self-care to avoid burnout and maintain effectiveness in ministry
- Stay current with trends in theology, church leadership, and community development, adapting strategies and approaches as needed
How You’ll Succeed:
- Spirit-lead vision casting into High School Ministry that aligns with CP vision and strategy of raising the strongest generation and is in alignment with our High School Ministry.
- Intentionally program weekend services to set up high school small group leaders for success and keeps students engaged.
- Accountable for all teaching of high school services/events.
- Teach most weekends, and ensure other speakers are at the level and theology of the regular teachings.
- Partner with and shepherd high school students and families. (Pastoral care, baptisms, and in the community).
- Identify, recruit, train and mentor high school small group leaders and others to pour into the lives of the students.
- Create high school events through the lens of a small group.
- Make transitions for incoming high schoolers and their parents seamless, and prepare graduates for next step opportunities to stay engaged where ever they go; college, employment, military, etc.
- Collaborate with the young adults pastor to ensure the seniors have a seamless transition to the young adults ministry and the career mentoring program.
- Engage into the school systems to create partnerships within the community.
- Respond to emails and phone calls within 24 hours of being in the office
- Perform related duties as assigned
- Strive to improve personal and professional skills by looking for and participating in learning opportunities
- Attend a weekly service to stay in tune with the direction of Connection Pointe and to continue developing spiritually
What We Are Looking:
- For 3+ years of ministry experience with prior teaching experience.
- Excellence in teaching God’s word that engages students and through the tension of balancing His grace and truth.
- Lives a servant leadership lifestyle. (Currently discipled by someone, and disciples someone else).
- Humble, and willing to be vulnerable with team in order to grow closer in their relationship to God along with the staff at CP.
- Experienced at putting on events for a large number of students, while maintaining within an approved budget.
- Partner well with parents and lead and develop small group leaders.
- Team player who is collaborative and works well within team and across ministries.
Bonus Points:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Bible or Ministry field preferred
- Experience leading students and recruiting and leading volunteers preferred
- Experience in a megachurch or large non-profit
Where You’ll Be:
- You will primarily be in an office environment primarily on a computer for prolonged periods of time.
- Physical demands mainly include, walking, climbing stairs, sitting or standing for long periods of time and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds.
Where You’ll Go:
- As a team, we are going into the world daily!
- This position may also occasionally require some overnight travel for retreats and conferences.
- Overall, the travel requirement for this position is <20%.
Typical Hours Breakdown: Mon - Thur schedule can be flexible.
