A warm, welcoming, and healthy place, the people have said, This is a dream job in a dream location.About the Ministry 140 youth, grades 6-12, participate in various youth ministry programs, including Sunday and midweek programming, confirmation, special events, service opportunities, and trips. Recently, 24 students were confirmed, attesting to the health and strength of the ministry. Students and leaders enjoy a welcoming, well-equipped ministry environment, complete with a large group gathering area, small group spaces, a cafe, and a designated outdoor area with an amphitheater and open space for games. In interviewing students about the ministry, they shared that they feel connected, committed, supported, and encouraged as they engage in all that their church has to offer. Led by faithful volunteer leaders and staff, this is a healthy ministry ready for its next energetic, strategic leader!The Ideal Candidate If you enjoy integrating youth and young adults into the larger life of the church, have successfully led a large, dynamic youth ministry, are energized by empowering volunteer leaders to disciple youth, and are driven to see students embrace and live into their full identity in Christ, youll thrive in this role.Key Responsibilities - Design and execute a variety of relevant ministry programming for students, 6th grade through 12th grade, and young adults that result in a growing number of engaged and spiritually transformed participants.- Create a culture where volunteers love to serve by recruiting, coaching, equipping, empowering, and appreciating volunteers.- Collaborate with ministries of the church to ensure students and young adults are participating consistently in the full worship and community life of the church.- Provide supervisory direction and guidance to ministerial interns assigned to student programming, ensuring leadership growth and accountability.- Cultivate a safe and welcoming environment promoting consistent relational connections between students, and with students and their volunteer leaders.- Grow relational connections with students and families through presence at student events, encouraging volunteer leaders to do likewise.Qualifications - Demonstrated commitment to the Christian faith and serving God through the faith formation of students and young adults.- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Education/Christian Ministry or related field. Masters preferred.- Minimum two years of significant, successful experience in developing student ministry discipleship programming in medium or large congregations.- Working knowledge of theory and strategies required to manage and maintain a vibrant, sustainable student and young adult ministry in a large congregation.- Commitment and demonstrated experience in discipling parents as their students primary faith influencer.- Demonstrated successful experience recruiting, developing, and leading volunteers.About the Community Known as the furniture capital of the world, High Point is a vibrant, mid-sized city that offers a balance between small town charm and urban convenience.
