Children's Ministry Director/Pastor

We are looking for a full-time Children's Director to come be a part of our team. We are looking for someone who loves kids and wants to see them come to know Jesus.

Reports to: Senior Pastor

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

• Direct and oversee the Childrens Ministry at Hempfield.
• Build relationships to recruit, equip, and empower effective ministry volunteers.
• Collaborate with and report to Senior Pastor and Next Gen Team.
• Lead and/or staff the Sunday worship experience of children birth-5th grade.
• Choose and lead the preparation of age-appropriate curriculum for each age level.
• Provide childrens ministry team volunteers with all necessary materials and information, allowing appropriate preparation time.
• Study and understand the spiritual and other developmental needs of children.
• Partner with and equip parents on how to best disciple their children effectively.
• Utilize strategic programming to disciple and equip both children and parents.
• Lead periodic children and family events.
• Participate in the overall life of Hempfield (connect groups, special events, special services, etc.)
• Oversee the administration and maintenance of the childrens ministry, including an annual budget.

Skills and qualifications:

• Experience working with children in a ministry position or teaching position.
• Heart for families and the next generation of Christianity.
• Proven ability to develop childrens ministry workers and leaders.
• Experience communicating the Gospel and Gods Word in an accessible way.
• Ability to organize childrens ministry outings and trips.
• Ability to connect with, disciple, and empower parents to raise godly children.
• Ability to respond to written and electronic communication in a timely, professional manner.
• Sold-out commitment to Jesus and the call to do whatever it takes to see people know His love.
• Hunger to grow as a leader and further develop skills to their fullest potential.
• Someone who is well organized but can be flexible in a team setting, while still being able to meet deadlines.
• Someone who is looking to not only function in a healthy team but build a healthy team of their own to support the church, not just their own ministry.
