Position Description
Rise Christian Church Connections Minister Job Description The role of Connections Minister at Rise Christian Church is a vital role to the overall vision of RISE in which we strive to Be Disciples and Make Disciples by helping people BEGIN to know Jesus, BELIEVE in Him, BECOME a closer follower, and BUILD His Kingdom. The Connections Minister will oversee internal and external community engagement to be a catalyst for Kingdom growth and further spiritual maturity. This work will be performed under the leadership of the Elders, Senior Pastor, and Executive Pastor.
EXPECTATIONS: The RISE Connections Minister is expected to:
- Be a committed Christian with a willing heart, character, and lifestyle reflective of a genuine Christ-follower.
- Have a passion and love for Jesus and His Church.
- Be (or become) a member of Rise Christian Church, fully supporting the church’s vision and core beliefs as evidenced by teaching, tithing, and lifestyle.
- Be a team player with a willingness to contribute to the mission and vision at Rise set by the Senior Pastor and Elders.
- Attend regular staff meetings(weekly), 1-on1 sync meetings (biweekly), and board meetings (monthly).
- Be a regular attending member (or leader) of a Life group.
- Be self-motivated and possess a solid work ethic.
- Proficient (within 3-6 months if not currently) in Microsoft suite programs.
- Be coachable and eager to learn from others.
- Be doctrinally sound and able to teach in an understandable and relatable way.
MINISTRY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and oversee internal community engagement to include (but not limited to):
- Lead volunteer recruitment and delegation to Rise ministry teams.
- Work alongside ministries to pinpoint current and future needs
- Lead, implement and oversee Life Group programing, member recruitment, and leader recruitment and training.
- Work alongside Care and Counseling Minister to assist Life group leaders in member care.
- Assist Senior Pastor in organizing Discipleship Training seminars and cohorts as directed.
- Develop and implement specialized programming that deepens the spiritual maturity of the congregation while ensuring all efforts remain aligned with the overall mission and vision of the church
- Lead volunteer recruitment and delegation to Rise ministry teams.
- Lead and oversee external community engagement to include (but not limited to):
- Greet and follow-up with visitors of the Church.
- Track status and make visible to all church ministries.
- Develop and oversee community outreach strategies to bring more lost in our community and beyond to the Kingdom.
- Build relationships with local schools, shelters, non-profits, other churches, businesses, etc. to develop a comprehensive approach to community outreach and resources.
- Lead Rise social media team to engage in a clear, consistent, and authentic way.
- Utilize Deacon team members to create efficiencies, increase capacity, and improve quality of programing.
- Communicate regularly with the Executive Pastor and Senior Pastor
- Greet and follow-up with visitors of the Church.
- Other duties as assigned by Sr. Pastor, Exec. Pastor, and Elders.
