Associate Student Pastor

The journey of Parkview Christian church began in 1948 on a train bound for Chicago, where two women talked, hoped and prayed together about what God could do in their community. Today, Parkview is a multi-site church in the southwest suburbs of Chicago, with campuses in Orland Park, Homer Glen and New, Lenox, Illinois. The church has a clearly defined mission to reach people with Gods love, raise them to be like Jesus and release them to change the world. The Parkview staff, led by a 5-member Executive Team, function well as a collaborative, hard-working, supportive team, united behind the common vision and staff values.

Parkview Christian Church is looking for an Associate Student Pastor to join this exciting and fast-paced organization. Parkview is one church with three campus locations in Orland Park, Homer Glen and New Lenox. The Orland Park Campus is seeking a full-time Associate Student Pastor who will focus on witnessing a growing number of high school and junior high students engaging in relentless pursuit of Jesus through Parkview Student Ministry programming, small groups and special events at the Orland Park Campus. Responsibilities include: Support & advance the vision for Student Ministry at Parkview Christian Church.Recruit, train, develop and care for junior high and high school ministry coaches and volunteers.Provide pastoral care, direction and support to junior high and high school students and their families.Identify, nurture, and develop leadership in junior high and high school students.Develop and deliver engaging and relevant sermons, teachings, and discussions forjunior high and high schoolschool students.Support the Campus Team and Central Students Team in regular ministry planning and implementation.Identify, develop and participate in key milestone moments for junior high and high school students (ex: salvation, baptism, serving, leading in student leadership roles, camps, mission trips, etc.).Demonstrate a servant attitude and a strong moral character along with a teamwork philosophy when supporting other areas of ministry and throughout the community.Serve as a commissioned pastor of Parkview Christian Church, abiding by the guidelines as a commissioned pastor of Parkviews Commissioning Policy and performing sacerdotal functions as needed.Collaborate with the Students Director in the execution of student ministry duties at the campus level. This includes tasks related to administration, teaching, recruiting, and trips.Maintain a strong commitment to growing in knowledge and understanding of God, ministry, and culture.Embrace change: willing to adapt to create new initiatives based on learning about teenagers and the needs of Parkview as culture changes.Demonstrate a strong work ethic: Self-motivated leader who thrives in collaboration with a team.
