Youth Minister

Water Valley First Christian Church is prayerfully seeking a faithful, energetic, and spiritually mature Youth Minister to help lead, encourage, and disciple our young people in their walk with Christ. The ideal candidate will have a sincere love for God, a heart for youth and families, and a commitment to teaching and living according to the Word of God. The Youth Minister will work under the oversight of the elders and in cooperation with the minister, deacons parents, and congregation to develop a Christ-centered youth ministry for middle school and high school students. This ministry should encourage spiritual growth, Bible knowledge, service, fellowship, evangelism, and lifelong faithfulness to Christ.

Primary Responsibilities

• Teach Bible classes and lead devotionals, youth activities, and spiritual growth opportunities for youth.
• Plan and coordinate youth events, service projects, retreats, mission efforts, camps, and fellowship activities.
• Build meaningful relationships with youth, parents, and families through encouragement, communication, and pastoral care.
• Encourage youth involvement in worship, Bible study, service, evangelism, and the overall life of the congregation.
• Recruit, encourage, and coordinate adult volunteers who assist with youth ministry activities.
• Communicate regularly with parents, church leadership, and the congregation regarding youth ministry plans and needs.
• Support the mission and teachings o the Independent Christian Church and model a faithful Christian life.

Qualifications

• A baptized believer and faithful member of the Independent Christian Church/Churches of Christ.
• Strong knowledge of Scripture and commitment to sound biblical teaching.
• Demonstrated ability to work well with youth, parents, volunteers, and church leadership.
• Good communication, organization, and planning skills.
• Ministry experience or Bible-related education is preferred, but all qualified applicants will be considered.
• Must be willing to submit to a background check and comply with all church safely policies for working with minors.

Compensation and Work Schedule This is a full Tim position. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additional details regarding salary, benefits, housing, vacation, and work schedule will be discussed with qualified applicants.
