Worship & Discipleship Minister

We are seeking a Worship & Discipleship Minister who loves Jesus, loves people, and wants to use both musical and ministry gifts to help people become faithful disciples of Jesus. This position will begin as a part-time worship-focused role, but for the right person, there is a genuine opportunity for the position to develop into a full-time pastoral ministry role with expanded responsibility in worship, discipleship, and leadership development. We're not simply looking for someone to sing songs on Sunday. We're looking for someone who wants to help build a ministry.

The Worship & Discipleship Minister will work closely with the Lead Pastor and ministry staff to create Christ-centered worship gatherings and develop a growing team of musicians, vocalists, and volunteers. As the position develops, this person will also have opportunities to help strengthen Harvest's discipleship culture through Life Groups, smaller discipleship groups, leadership development, and helping people take meaningful next steps in following Jesus. For a young ministry leader, recent graduate, or someone looking for an opportunity to gain meaningful pastoral ministry experience, this is a chance to step into a growing church where there is significant room to lead, develop, and grow.

Worship Ministry Responsibilities

• Lead Worship
  • Plan and lead engaging, Christ-centered worship during Harvest's Sunday morning services. Our goal is not simply excellent music. We want worship that helps people recognize the greatness of Jesus, respond to the gospel, and participate together as the church.
• Develop the Worship Team
  • Recruit, disciple, encourage, and develop musicians and vocalists rather than simply filling positions on a schedule. We want to build a ministry where new leaders are continually being identified and equipped.
• Plan Sunday Services
  • Collaborate closely with the Lead Pastor and ministry team to develop cohesive Sunday gatherings where music, Scripture, communion, teaching, prayer, and response work together intentionally.
• Lead Rehearsals
  • Prepare songs, arrangements, resources, and rehearsals that allow volunteers to serve confidently and with excellence.
• Build a Healthy Worship Culture
  • Help create a team culture marked by humility, preparation, biblical worship, spiritual maturity, relationships, and a desire to continually improve.
• Collaborate with Production Volunteers
  • Work alongside our media and production teams to help create excellent in-person and online worship experiences.

Growing Into Discipleship Ministry

For the right candidate, we want this position to become much more than worship ministry. Harvest is committed to making disciples who make disciples. • Helping develop and strengthen Life Groups and other discipleship environments
• Recruiting and coaching group leaders
• Developing emerging ministry leaders
• Helping people identify and take their next step with Jesus Investing personally in younger believers
• Developing disciples who are capable of discipling others
• Assisting with young adult ministry
• Teaching or preaching as gifts and opportunities develop
• Participating in pastoral care and church-wide ministry
• Helping shape Harvest's overall discipleship strategy
• We aren't expecting one person to do all of these things immediately.
• We want to discover the candidate's gifts, help develop them, and build the role around both the needs of the church and the calling God has placed on that person.
• Who We're Looking For First and foremost, we are looking for a disciple of Jesus before we are looking for a musician.

The ideal candidate:

• Has a growing, authentic relationship with Jesus
• Demonstrates biblical character, humility, and integrity
• Has a strong vocal ability and can confidently lead congregational worship
• Is proficient with guitar and/or keyboard
• Understands that worship ministry is about shepherding people, not performing for an audience
• Loves developing volunteers and future leaders
• Works well as part of a collaborative ministry team
• Is teachable and wants to continue developing as a ministry leader
• Is dependable, prepared, and able to lead with excellence
• Has a heart for people who do not yet know Jesus
• Is passionate about making disciples who make disciples
• Is comfortable serving in a growing church where ministry systems are continuing to develop Is aligned with the beliefs and ministry philosophy of the Independent Christian Church/Restoration Movement
• A ministry, Bible, or worship degree is preferred but not required.
• Current college students approaching graduation, recent graduates, and developing ministry leaders are encouraged to apply.
• Previous worship leadership experience is preferred.
