Senior Pastor

Grace Baptist Church is prayerfully seeking a passionate, Christ-centered Senior Pastor to lead our congregation in spiritual growth, biblical teaching, discipleship, and community outreach. We desire a shepherd who loves God, loves people, and is committed to helping our church fulfill its mission of making disciples and glorifying Christ. About Grace Baptist Church Grace Baptist Church is an independent Baptist church located on the south side of Des Moines, Iowa. Our average Sunday attendance is approximately 60 people, representing a loving, multi-generational church family committed to biblical truth, authentic fellowship, and reaching our community with the Gospel.

Our Vision: "At Grace, we care more about where you are and where you're going than where you've been." We believe God has positioned our church to minister to the growing communities of the south side of Des Moines and surrounding areas. We are seeking a pastor who will help us build upon our strong foundation while leading us toward future opportunities for discipleship, outreach, and growth.

Position Summary: The Senior Pastor will serve as the primary spiritual leader of the church, providing biblical preaching, pastoral care, leadership development, and vision for ministry. He will work alongside church leaders to equip believers, strengthen families, reach our community, and help Grace Baptist Church continue growing as a vibrant witness for Christ.

Responsibilities

• Preach and teach God's Word with biblical accuracy and practical application.
• Provide spiritual leadership and guidance for the congregation.
• Shepherd and care for members through visitation, counseling, prayer, and encouragement.
• Equip and mentor leaders for effective ministry.
• Lead the church in fulfilling its mission through discipleship, evangelism, and community engagement.
• Work collaboratively with church leadership to establish and implement ministry goals and vision.
• Officiate weddings, funerals, baptisms, and other pastoral duties as needed.

Qualifications

• A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a growing personal walk with Him.
• A calling from God to pastoral ministry.
• Agreement with the doctrine, mission, and values of Grace Baptist Church.
• Strong communication, leadership, and relational skills.
• A heart for shepherding people of all ages and backgrounds.
• Formal theological training is preferred.
• Previous pastoral ministry experience is preferred but not required.

Compensation: Grace Baptist Church offers a competitive compensation package based on experience, education, and qualifications. Benefits include:
