Walnut Street Church of Christ has an exciting opportunity for a Lead Minister who is motivated and energetic about leading our congregation to the next level. We have recently experienced a cultural shift that has brought down our median age. We have established a base of involved, young families, and are seeking someone to lead us in continued growth. Our leadership consists of a committed team of three elders and three deacons. While remaining true to our restoration movement doctrine, we are progressively minded in our methodology. We are constantly looking for new ways to reach out to our community. Our contemporary worship includes a praise band with a casual environment. About the Position
Position Description
Primary responsibilities:
- Prepare/deliver sermons and studies.
- Guide small group program.
- Lead, oversee and direct ministry leaders, deacons, and volunteers under the oversight of the Elders.
- Attend church events.
- Drive evangelism.
- Partner with Elders for pastoral care, visitations, and overall vision.
- Evaluate ministry effectiveness and guide leadership in strategic planning.
You may be a good fit for this position if you:
- Have a bachelor’s degree in Biblical studies
- Exemplify Christian living
- Are temperate, self-controlled, hospitable, gentle, and have a good reputation; possess strong organizational skills
- Apassionate about kingdom growth
- Connect well with youth
- Have experience in a growing church environment
- Consider yourself a “people person” and relate well with a blue-collar, fun-loving, welcoming, and supportive congregation.
Required skills:
- Confidence in speaking, extensive Bible knowledge, effective verbal and written communication, and success in relationship management.
- Knowledge in Microsoft Office, social media, and website management.
- Preaching experience preferred but not required for the right candidate with strong potential.
