We are more than a church, we are a family!We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and he was sent to die on the cross so that we might have Eternal Life. We work together as a congregation to promote the work of the church in the spirit of Christ and to advance his Kingdom. We are a traditional church that enjoys worshiping the Lord by hearing the scripture, partaking in weekly communion and singing traditional hymns and choruses!We welcome everyone as we learn, grow and share our Christian faith. About the Position
Position Description
Core Pastoral Duties
- Worship & Preaching:
- Lead Sunday Services
- Preach the Word
- Collaborate with the worship committee to plan meaningful experiences
- Provide worship experiences and the practice of ministry within the church and community.
- Sacraments & Rites:
- Celebrate weddings and funerals for the church community.
- Christian Education: Lead weekly adult Bible studies and provide adult leadership for youth and assist with music ministries.
Congregational Care & Outreach
- Pastoral Care: Conduct hospital visits, home-centered calls, and provide counseling as needed.
- Community Building: Foster an environment of love and healing; identify and re-engage inactive members while supporting those with special needs and to provide pastoral counseling as needed.
- Growth: Provide instruction for prospective members and actively recruit new participants, seek ways of motivating members to be active in all aspects of church life.
- Administration & Leadership Office Management: Maintain set office hours and work with the office administrator on bulletins, newsletters and other correspondence.
- Governance: Attend church board meetings and serve as a resource/counsel for committees (voice/counsel only; no vote).
