Family & Student Minister

Connect Christian Church is located in Carl Junction, just north of Joplin, MO. Connect has existed since 1885 and has experienced a strong period of revitalization over the past decade. Throughout that time, the church has grown significantly, from 150 to its current size of approx. 400.We aim to glorify God by being disciples who make disciples and we envision doing that by helping people Come to Jesus, Thrive in Family, and Go on Mission. We currently have 3 worship gatherings on Sunday mornings (1 with traditional music and 2 with modern music). We have 7 groups (called Oikos) that meet on Sunday nights in homes around the Carl Junction/Joplin area and we have Midweek groups for all ages on Wednesday nights.We're also in the middle of a capital campaign to renovate a gymnasium space into a brand new auditorium that will greatly increase our seating capacity. Along with that campaign, we will be renovating space to create a new lobby and updating existing restrooms.We are led by a healthy team of 5 elders, along with 5 ministers, 5 deacons, and a ton of great volunteers.

Our vision is to help people Come to Jesus, Thrive in Family, and Go on Mission. Because we believe the church was intended to function as a family, we often repeat the same phrase - "We want to rediscover family the way God intended it to be." As we add to our staff, our goal is to continue investing in godly family, from children to teenagers to parents and grandparents. This staff position will be intricate in developing environments and pathways for our families. There will be a wide range of ministry opportunities with our Family Ministry Team, as well as a focus on teens in our Student Ministry.
