Discipleship Minister

Our mission at Second Church of Christ: Make Christ-Centered Disciples. Our heart at Second Church is for everyone to become: CONNECTED with God and people. To be with Jesus, making our home with Him. CHANGED by Christ. To become like Jesus, sharing His heart and His voice. COMMITTED to His mission. To do the things Jesus did, making disciples who will make disciples.

The Discipleship minister at Second Church of Christ will serve:

• To share Christ’s Kingdom mission to become disciples who makes disciples.
• To facilitate alignment among all our congregation on our disciple-making process and how that process unfolds in each ministry area.
• To promote a clear engagement pathway for next steps in a person’s faith journey.
• To partner with smaller group/ministry leaders to provide resources and direction in fulfilling our kingdom mission.
• To work with our two teaching ministries in consistently communicating our mission and pathway to the congregation as a whole.
• To provide guidance for our First Impressions team leadership as they serve as the front door to assimilation.

The Discipleship minister at Second Church of Christ will exhibit:

• An absolute desire to be with Jesus, to become like Jesus, and to do the things Jesus did in our specific ministry context.
• A willingness to tailor their ministry approach in alignment with the vision of the elders and senior leadership team.
• A heart for next steps in both individual and corporate discipleship journeys.
• A passion to be a leader of leaders who will develop others to multiply the kingdom impact.
• An ability to preach and communicate effectively.
