Job Description
Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of Thrive’s Sunday morning children’s programming (birth - 5th grade).
- Select and implement curriculum
- Recruit, train, and manage volunteers
- Oversee weekly setup & teardown of children’s ministry area
- Develop relationships with kids and parents
- Maintain equipment and supplies
- Hire contract workers to assist with children’s ministry Relaunch children’s midweek programming.
- Develop programming for Little Seeds (birth - 4yo) weekly story hour
- Recruit and train volunteers
- Work with volunteers to create relationships with the parents of the kids
- Create discipleship opportunities for elementary-aged kids
Job Summary
Thrive Church of God in Broken Arrow, OK, is looking for their next Director of Children’s Ministries to help kids connect with God, learn how to listen to Him, and then respond. This is a part time+ salaried position that reports to the Lead Pastor and has the potential for growth as the ministry area grows.
Applicant Requirements
The ideal candidate will have experience with Children’s Ministry, a passion for kids and families, and a desire to grow continually as a leader and in their relationship with Christ. A candidate who can help develop a Middle School Ministry would be advantageous but not required. Expectations: Participation in the life of the church (small groups, special events) and weekly one-on-one and staff meetings. Other duties at Lead Pastor’s discretion based on candidate’s strengths and church needs. We are looking for a “batteries included” self-starter who sees their role as part of the team. Requirements and Skills: A Christian disciple learning to listen and respond to God Minimum of 1 year working with kids, some ministry training preferred but not required, ability to maintain a reputable community presence and influence as well as communicate with kids and families. Must be fluid, flexible, and willing to accept/adapt to change and commit to the vision and direction of the church. Preference is given to those who have been part of a growing children’s ministry. Compensation dependent on experience and education.
