Northeast Christian Church is located in Grand Junction, the most populous city in western Colorado. The population of Grand Junction is 60,000, while the metropolitan area (Grand Junction, Clifton, Palisade, Orchard Mesa, Fruita) population is 150,000. The city is located along the Colorado River, where it receives the Gunnison River from the south. I70 runs along the north part of town. The Grand Valley is a major fruit-growing region. The Colorado National Monument, a unique series of canyons and mesas, overlooks the city on the west, with the Book Cliffs, a prominent series of cliffs that define the northern side of the Grand Valley, and the Grand Mesa, the world's largest flattop mountain over 10,000' altitude to the east. The Grand Junction area has turned into a major mountain biking destination with abundant single-track trails. Our church family strives to establish and nurture lasting relationships with the local community and welcome and serve those passing through. At Northeast Christian, we are passionate about getting involved with the community through service and activities, while living a life of personal holiness in a way that pleases God. We are prayerfully seeking a new F/T Associate Pastor of Music & Discipleship to join our staff team of 5 (F/T senior pastor, F/T student pastor, P/T children’s ministry director, P/T senior's minister, F/T office manager) and leadership of 4 elders.

Job Summary

Participate in all leadership meetings to develop and implement the overall direction of Northeast Christian. Pastor, coach, and care for volunteers in order to build ownership, equip them to lead others, and evaluate, brainstorm, and make improvements. Continue to learn and grow through communication with other worship pastors and attending conferences, etc. Be versatile in other environments as necessary (i.e. weekly Bible study or small group, occasional teaching, hospital/home calls, etc.). Be willing to perform other tasks as necessary for the health and growth of the church body of Northeast Christian. Flexibility and versatility are key at this stage in the life of Northeast Christian.
