Job Summary

The New Testament Christian Church is seeking candidates for the position of senior minister. Applicants should be gifted in preaching the Word and loving others. In our history, we had a minister serve for over forty years, followed by one who served for two years. Our elder-led congregation consists of approximately 200-225 Sunday worshippers. Since 1981, we have hosted Keokuk Christian Academy which offers school programs for preschool through high school. Our senior minister is expected to encourage and support the church’s staff, which consists of a secretary, a children’s minister, a lay youth minister, and a school staff led by the KCA administrator. The church has two services on Sunday mornings: one traditional and one contemporary. We are seeking someone who will provide both groups with a common understanding of salvation through faith and baptism, the commands of scripture, and loving the community through service and evangelism. Keokuk is a town of approximately 10,000 and is located on Highway 61 between Quincy, Il and Burlington, IA. We are a Restoration Movement church. We support our local Christian camp, Christian colleges in the region, campus ministries, and missionaries serving throughout the world. Qualities sought: Care-giving and personable A bachelor’s degree or higher from a Christian college or equivalent experience Experience in a multi-staff setting Experience preaching and teaching Restoration Movement theology Ability to relate with a multi-generational congregation Minister Duties: Providing encouragement and comfort through visitation to individuals in need Collaborating with elders and deacons in goal-setting and long-term planning Leading the congregation by participating in church events Delivering both evangelistic and discipleship messages from the pulpit Being available to the congregation through office hours Conducting funerals and weddings for church members Supporting and encouraging the ministries of the congregation Participating in evangelism and outreach to the community Equipping church members to lead and serve in ministries Demonstrating enthusiastic support for traditional Christian education More info on the church available at Please submit resumes to
