Job Summary

The Family Director will be the primary leader and overseer of the children/youth programming and family outreach/discipleship at Loveland Christian Church. This person’s primary focus is to train and empower people to minister to individuals from birth-18. The ideal candidate will need to be emotionally mature, able to engage with people, and build connections with all age groups in our congregation. Understanding and communicating how the Family Ministry fits into the church as a whole is critical. The successful candidate will be comfortable becoming a member of Loveland Christian Church and will be aligned with our mission, core values and doctrinal belief statements. This person will be part of a combined leadership team consisting of elders and all staff. Essential Functions: This is a highly-collaborative role that will work directly with teachers and helpers, to design age-appropriate faith-building programs. It will also be important to collaborate with all other ministries and staff to maintain and help build a vibrant, learning, growing and sending church. Lead, coordinate classes and workshops offering training to different age groups based on congregational needs, such as baptism, parenting, marriage, cultural issues, etc. Involvement with and proactive planning of VBS, church camp, age appropriate youth conferences, mission trips, local (regional) groups, school liaison, and other family focused community outreach events as determined. Different personality types can succeed in this role. However, this person will need to be comfortable speaking in front of groups when needed. Education and Experience: A bachelors degree in a related field is desired. Two to three years of experience in a related area, which can include part-time or volunteer work.
