First Christian Church of Beardstown
We currently have two worship services on Sunday morning and the attendance is approximately 210 (pre-COVID our average attendance was 250). Our worship tends to be more contemporary in style. We have a full-time student minister with youth meetings averaging about 50 to 60 jr. high and high school students. Our facilities include a 250-seat auditorium, 16 classrooms, large kitchen and cafeteria, and a full-sized gym. We are also home to Beardstown Christian Academy, which is a mission of the church, with a current enrollment of 152 students from pre-K through 12th grade.

Job Description
The ideal candidate will have the ability and experience to prepare and present weekly sermons, demonstrate leadership skills in working with different groups of people (elders, church staff, congregation, and other community leaders), actively participate in our educational ministries, and bring energy, vision, and direction towards our goal of growing our church body by fulfilling our mission of “bringing people to an ever-growing relationship with Jesus Christ.” Responsibilities will include weekly preaching and teaching, pastoral duties, administrative guidance for the church office staff, partnering with the administrator of our affiliated school (Beardstown Christian Academy), and continuation of personal development aligning with Christ’s teachings. Our prayer is that the Lord will lead us to a man of God, who has the Spirit of God, so that the people of God and those far from God will hear the Word of God. Job Summary
First Christian Church located in the small, yet diverse, community of Beardstown, IL is actively seeking a Full-Time Pulpit Minister who is a believer and ordained minister of New Testament Christianity, of excellent character, and experienced in wide range of pastoral duties and types of interactions with their congregation. Our current pulpit minister has served with our church for 30 years and plans to retire in April 2023.
