Job Summary
The youth minister's responsibility would be:
- To serve the church by developing, coordinating, and administering an effective and comprehensive ministry to the youth of the church, all ages, and to provide leadership and supervision of staff members and volunteers in this ministry.
- Have oversight of children's church ministry, teaching in Sunday school programs, and of Sunday evening youth programing (September through May).
- Create fun summertime activities for youth supporting and encouraging youth to attend local church camp in the summer.
- Recruit and train volunteers and sponsors to help in youth programming.
- Create fun and inviting special events and activities both on and off campus.
- Assist in preaching upon request of preaching minister and elders.
- Assist in hospital and shut-in calling on occasion.
- Keep in contact with youth and attending their sports and school activities when appropriate.
Applicant Requirements
Candidates may submit a resume to preaching minister, Burt Brock, at [email protected]. Resume will be reviewed by search ministry group who will then set up an interview either in person or phone to go over resume and answer questions of applicant. Search ministry will then make recommendation to elders who will then contact application for a second interview. If all goes well, the applicant will be brought to meet with the congregation who will then vote for their approval with a 2/3's favorable vote needed to be hired.
