This Cross-Cultural internship opportunity is a hands-on experience working throughout the summer months, primarily with DWM’s Cantemawaste Summer Youth Camp and primarily with Native American youth on the Crow Creek Sioux Indian Reservation. As an intern you will join with the full-time staff and take the lead in an assigned area of camp, youth activities, and other community ministry opportunities.
Acceptance into the DWM Internship Program will be determined by your application portfolio, references, and a phone interview(s). Three factors contribute in determining whether it is the right time for you to be an intern at DWM: 1. Spiritual Authority: We want to know that the spiritual authorities in your life (parents, pastors, and leaders) all agree that this is the right training environment for you at this time. 2. Personal Life: Spiritual maturity and preparedness are key factors in determining entrance into this program. In order to be considered for acceptance you must be a baptized believer, able to understand and communicate the message of the Gospel, and have been committed to a local church for 6 months. 3. Finances: You must demonstrate financial stability in order to become an intern. The DWM Intern position is a non-paid position. Interns are not permitted to work a job outside of DWM. All needed finances will need to be raised by the participant prior to arrival. Please note that this internship is not a paid position. However, many of our interns in the past have raised support for their summers with support letters to friends and family. We can be a support to you in this process, but do expect our interns to take the responsibility on their own to figure out their expenses while they're a part of our ministry. However, housing and most of your food is provided during your time as an intern.
