Job Summary

Purpose: Organize, develop, and oversee programming for ages 6th grade through college age. This position is responsible to: Elders of Dalton Hill Christian Church Education/Experience Requirements: • Bachelor degree in applicable area of Ministry, or equivalent experience. • Must be firmly grounded in the Restoration Movement’s principles and ideals. Primary Responsibilities: • Teach and promote a saving understanding of the Gospel among our members. • Meet with and oversee volunteers within area of ministry. o Learn from and work through parents and volunteers to develop and implement programming • Oversee/teach current programming. Teaching and ministry opportunities occur regularly on Sunday morning, and Wednesday night. • Actively recruit, develop, and equip Ministry Leaders for each age group. o Provide volunteer training/equipping opportunities (seminars, workshops, etc.) o Develop separate teaching opportunities for Junior and Senior high groups, recruit/train/support teachers/volunteers for each group. • Organize Audio/Visual needs for all programming (music, video, DVD, etc.). • Evaluate effectiveness and appropriateness of current programming. • Attend activities/events important to the youth and families of the church (i.e. sporting events, band concerts/recitals, graduations, drama presentations, et. al.). • Visit member families and visitors in the ministry area. • Visit college age attendees with focus on spiritual, emotional, and relational support. • Plan and implement outreach events, various trips/retreats/outings throughout year. • Work closely with congregation to provide feedback, support, and resources for spiritual growth of our families. • Communicate and promote programs/special events to the congregation and the community. • Work in concert with the Children’s Minister to share resources and strategically plan for future growth of both ministries. Additional duties: • Attend and contribute to weekly ministerial staff meetings o Work with other staff ministers to complement vision and direction of leadership • Teach within area of ministry • Oversee ministry area budget • Report plans and progress at monthly board meeting Additional duties (continued): • Contribute to publications of the church (i.e. bulletin, newsletter).. • Involvement with Blue Ridge Christian Camp. o Develop and staff a week of summer camp (as needed). • Participate in executing a quality summer VBS experience. • Preach / teach congregation. • Support and promote vision of congregation as communicated by the Elders & board • Visit hospitals, nursing homes, and membership as needed. • Additional responsibilities as requested. Other considerations: • Must be relationally strong and able to effectively communicate with all age groups. • Must be evangelistically focused, exemplifying a passion toward bringing youth to Christ.
