City Union Mission
City Union Mission is an evangelical ministry based in the urban core of Kansas City, Missouri that helps to provide the community with support. City Union Mission has two shelters, one for men and one for families, a thrift store, holiday giveaways, City Camp (summer day camp for children who stay in the shelter and for children in the community), City Corps (a program during the school year that provides tutoring and activities for children in the shelter and in the community), Camp CUMCITO (a summer camp in Warsaw, MO) and much more to help give hope to those in the community.

Function in a team to facilitate City Camp (summer-long day camp). Responsibilities will vary from curriculum preparation to facilitating a variety of student activities, from food service and administrative tasks to follow-up home visits. Room, board, and stipend provided. Often difficult and sometimes grueling; this isn’t easy, but for those who share our purpose, it is rewarding. Courage and commitment are necessary.

Ability to work well with others as a team player; Abide by established rules and able to work under authority; Desire to be spiritually challenged; Good communication skills; Experience working with children; Experience in the following areas is helpful: recreation, music, camp, teaching Bible lessons, food service, writing, and academic classroom instruction; Patience and poise in irritating situations; Interest/experience in interpersonal relationships with mission clients in an urban environment, beneficial; Also CUM employee qualifications: 1. Be a genuine believer in the Lord Jesus Christ as expressed by personal testimony and Christian conduct. 2. Be a member in good standing of a recognized Protestant, evangelical church. 3. Have a genuine concern for the ministry of the mission. 4. Agree with the doctrinal statement. 5. Abstain from the use of alcoholic beverages, tobacco, and illegal drugs. 6. Have a lifestyle that is free of sexual sin. 7. Have high standards of personal hygiene and housekeeping relative to personal appearance and work area. 8. Have the ability to work in harmony with other staff members.
