Lead praise & worship 20 times each week including Sunday evening staff worship, leading in 2 songs before each meal, and 3-4 songs for evening chapel times Choose songs, make a schedule, and be prepared to lead each time singing is on the schedule Practice with your band and be sure everyone has a schedule and is ready to go when it’s your moment! Connect with AV and communicate your needs/expectations. Create power point slides for songs and other needs of the Program Manager Keep music, instruments, and stage clean and organized. Keep instruments tuned and ready to play (have extra guitar strings available for emergencies). Have background music ready to play during meals and during morning activities in Ft. Turley. Check in and report to Program Manager regularly. Follow through on extra responsibilities that assist the camp program. Be DJ for the Princess Dinners. Familiarize, uphold, and implement the camps policies, rules, and systems. Worship Leaders help lead children at-risk to Jesus through music, and help the staff connect with God through worship. The leader puts together a band each week and leads them. The Worship leader also assists in other responsibilities for the summer camp program when they are not leading worship, and they work with the Leadership team to maintain a trusting camp environment. This position provides a lot of experience in working with at-risk kids and helping them connect with God through music.
Have a thorough understanding of the Bible and listening to God’s leading. Have a high emotional intelligence. Respect for authorities that includes supporting their decisions when they are not around. Respect confidentiality and exercise good judgment. Passionate commitment to Christ and the mission of the ministry. Not a novice in the faith but be spiritually mature seeking the Lord’s will in every aspect of life and should whole heartedly agree with the Camp David of the Ozark’s Articles of Faith. Active in a local church and have experience in leading worship. Have a “Can Do” attitude Be passionate to learn. Operate with a “striving for excellence” value. Acceptance for this position will depend on successful completion of the Leadership Application, references reviewed, and a criminal background check. Camp David of the Ozarks’ Worship Leader compensation package is as follows: $100 a week ($1,000 for the whole summer), plus free room and board for the summer.
