Having the Conversation on Racial Justice in the Local Church
Matthew McBirth grew up in the city of Jeffersonville, Indiana. Being from a biethnic home and multiethnic community, Matthew experienced both the beauty of diversity and the struggles that can arise when cultures clash. Matthew is a graduate of Ozark Christian College. While there, Matthew developed a passion for the ministry of racial reconciliation. Matthew now works for OCC as the Director of Multicultural Affairs. After receiving his Master of Arts in Christian Practice with an emphasis in reconciliation studies, Matthew also serves as a professor of Bible and Ministry.
Matthew is married to Allison, whom he met at OCC. Apart from talking about unity within the church, on campus, and in society, Matthew enjoys playing and watching basketball. He is a huge University of Louisville Cardinals fan. He also enjoys reading, listening to hip-hop, or writing poetry.
Brian Jennings lives in Tulsa with his wife, Beth, and their four children. Brian preaches at Highland Park Christian Church and serves on the boards of Blackbox International (aftercare for trafficked boys) and Ozark Christian College. Jaron Scott helps lead Christ's Church of Joplin in Joplin, Missouri. Jaron's first passion is loving and living with his wife Chelsi. Jaron's second passion is to preach about Jesus and lead others in following Jesus so that his kingdom comes to his church and city.
