Turner Christian Church in Turner OR is looking for a new full-time associate minister to oversee their ministry to youth and families. Turner Christian is a strong, passionate congregation with a heart to serve the families in our community, with a special emphasis on the youth in our neighboring schools (especially Cascade Junior High and High Schools). We are looking for a candidate with a passion for hands-on teen ministry, serving families, and building bridges between generations within the church. Responsibilities include: • Developing our existing youth program to connect with youth in our community, including Sunday school classes, Wednesday night youth group, Summer activities, camps and retreats. • Developing and coordinating our family ministry, including recruiting and coordinating teachers for children’s Sunday school classes and Wednesday night classes. • Identifying and cultivating adult volunteers to help in leading youth and children’s activities. • Overseeing family events throughout the year, such as harvest festivals and Easter Egg hunts. • Spending time investing in the lives of teens, by attending sporting events & concerts, taking students to lunch, etc. • Working with the senior minister to fit the youth and family ministry into the overall vision and plans of the congregation. • Attend weekly staff meetings to coordinate ministries, plan events, and pray together. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in relevant field (Divinity, Ministry, Biblical studies, etc.). • At least one year’s experience as a pastor, or at least three years as a ministry volunteer. • Teaching ability: associate minster must be able to compose and teach compelling, biblical lessons in a way that engages their audience, whether youth, children or adults. • Ministry ability: associate minister must have a passion and gifting for practical ministry—counseling, encouraging, prayer, sharing life with members of the congregation. • Discipleship ability: associate minister needs to be able to come alongside students and adult volunteers and train them into deeper faith and obedience, and help them to develop their God-given talents and callings. • Learning ability: TCC understands and expects that our associate minister will be learning as they minister: learning Scripture, learning ministry, learning leadership. Associate minister will be expected to continue learning, both from individual study and in discipleship under the senior minister and the elders. • Spiritual qualifications: Associate minister needs to confess faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and be able to support the beliefs, identity, and vision of Turner Christian Church with a clear conscience.
