Children’s Director at Rogers Christian Church Job Description This is a part-time position and will require 15-20 hours each week. The Children’s Director is to have a heart, passion and commitment to Jesus Christ and ministries for children and their families. The Director will oversee the children’s ministries provided by Rogers Christian Church by leading in ministry development, managing volunteers, selecting curriculum and administrating execution of children’s ministries. The Director will facilitate communication between children, parents, and the church. The Director will help equip parents to be the spiritual leaders in their homes. Alongside parents, the Children’s Director will invest in the spiritual formation of children through leading ministries for children and develop relationships with children and their families. Qualifications o Mature and growing relationship with Jesus Christ o Deep, abiding love for Jesus Christ, children, and families o Strong interest and belief in the value of Christian education for children o Established character o Ability to communicate and organize o Interpersonal skills to lead and develop volunteers/teams as well as to relate well to children and parents o In agreement with vision, direction and doctrinal statements of RCC o At least working towards Bachelor’s Degree from a Restoration Movement Bible College Responsibilities Oversee ministries to children (from 4 years old through the 5th grade) and their families including Sunday School, Children’s Church, Wednesday Nights, Special Events, Summer Camp and children’s programming during other church-sponsored events. Lead and coordinate the Children’s Ministry in developing existing and new ministries for children and their families, and aligning those ministries with church vision/mission statements. Lead and manage volunteers. Recruit, schedule and encourage workers. Delegate tasks to appropriate leaders. Have a monthly gathering for training and communication. Guide development, selection, and evaluation of curriculum. Administrate ministries by planning annual calendar of regular ministry programming, preparing the Children’s Ministry budget, developing and executing reporting mechanisms, and ensuring safety policies and procedures. Communicate with elders, church staff, volunteers, congregation, parents and children. Invest relationally and spiritually with children and their families. Provide guidance, resources and support for volunteers. Be available for counseling to those interested in salvation/relationship with Jesus Christ.
