About the Fellowship Program The Jill’s House Fellowship lasts one year, beginning in June, and is a paid, full-time position. Our goal is to help develop a generation of professionals who love Jesus and children with special needs. You live and work with other godly people committed to serving children with special needs. Through our program, you will: -Care for children with a wide array of disabilities -Gain hands-on experience -Deepen your walk by working with these children -Live in an intentional community -Receive compensation, benefits, and housing during the year of the program Your role. As a Jill’s House Fellow, you will work primarily as a childcare specialist, providing loving care to a group of children entrusted to us for safe, professional care. Children stay with us during weekend programs, as well as during weeknight programs through our partnerships with local schools. We also offer day camps during the summer and other times throughout the year. The childcare specialist is the face of Jill’s House, and leads a group of one to three children through activities throughout his or her stay. One moment, you may be on the playground with your group; another moment, you may be singing in the music room or reading books. Client Care Specialists typically work 40-60 hours per week, including two 8- or 12-hour shifts each weekend.
The work you will do: Client Care Specialists report to a childcare supervisor and are responsible for the guidance and supervision of the children to whom they are assigned. You will perform a combination of basic care and assistance with activities of daily living in a safe, nurturing environment. You will work with children according to their individual needs and encourage their activity and participation while promoting an awesome experience.
