Paula Giltner

Illustrator

Paula Giltner is a preacher's kid who grew up in Colorado. She was a self-taught artist when she began illustrating in 1978 for College Press Publishing Co. of Joplin. A picture Bible which included a harmony of the Gospels and the book of Acts was created. This art is now being used by missions and has been prduced in many foreign languages by Johnny Johnson and by Good New Productions. 

Paula also has spent many years providing architectural illustration for Goodman Church Builders and for many other architects and property developers. She studied art at Missouri Southern State University starting in 1995 and also studied in many private seminars. She began to illustrate campus expansion projects for OCC in 1997 and has been their artist-in-residence ever since. She has created many murals and portraits on campus as well as displays, OCC history illustrations and aesthetic works. Except for the residence halls, her art hangs in every building on campus.

Paula has created numerous commissioned paintings and illustrations besides theater scenery, murals, portraits, graphic design and interior design. She has received many awards locally for fine art including Best of Show at the Spiva Center for the Atts membership show in 2015. Paula is currently residing in Joplin. She is married and has 3 children and 3 grandchildren. She is showing her fine art at Local Color Art Gallery in Joplin and in various regional shows and competitions.
