position with Current- A Christian Church
General Description: The Student Pastor provides leadership, teaching and discipleship for Current – A Christian Church’s Junior High and Senior High students. The Student Ministry is responsible for creating an exciting and challenging ministry that serves as an outreach to un-churched students and helps motivate active students toward spiritual growth and maturity. The Student Pastor should be a team player and be fully supportive of the beliefs and visions of our church. Primary Responsibilities: Lead Student Ministries Staff and Volunteers-- •Enlist, equip, and empower a team of volunteers to own and lead the Student Ministry and invest in the lives of students. •Manage, invest in, develop, and coach a team of interns and volunteers. •Develop Student Leadership within the Student Ministry to train students to be the church and invest in people around them. •Develop strategic initiatives to gain access to, and earn the right to be heard on local Junior High and High School campuses. Administration-- •Develop and execute an annual calendar of events for the Student Ministry. •Create and expand large and small group environments, mission trips, retreats, and outreach events. Relationships-- •Successfully develop and nurture relationships with volunteers and other student ministry staff. •Create an environment that attracts students within Current as well as outside the church. •Be a part of a team approach to Student Ministry that is already in place. Teaching-- •Serve as one of the primary Teaching Pastors for the Student Ministry. •Communicate the Gospel and Biblical principles in a creative and culturally relevant manner to Students. Personal Requirements-- •Model the Biblical qualifications of an elder in (1 Tim 3:1-7, Titus 1:6-9, 1 Peter 5:1-4). •Hold beliefs that are consistent with Current’s core beliefs as an independent Christian Church. Education/Experience--•Three years experience in full-time student ministry. •Bachelor’s Degree in an area of concentration that has equipped you for vocational ministry. •Must possess these key spiritual gifts: Leadership, Administration and Teaching. •Must align with the vision, values, and doctrinal statement of Current – A Christian Church. Must be a member of Current – A Christian Church who is fully supportive of the vision and values of our church. •Ability to coordinate with and/or participate in leading a Student Worship team for mid-week program is preferred, but not required. Important skills/personal traits-- •Generates new ideas and creative programming. •Socially poised and confident, able to speak to large and small groups. •Takes on multiple challenges and succeeds. •Assertive and motivated for a successful ministry.
