Internet Use Guidelines for the Library
You may access the Internet from any of the Library computers.
Use of the Internet is for RESEARCH PURPOSES ONLY.
This excludes use of or for chat rooms, Facebook, YouTube, personal e-mail, book marking, assignments, game playing, purchasing, etc. Travel reservations are an exception. Only Library staff can add to BOOKMARKS. You are free to suggest additional bookmarks. Limited file saving/transferring/downloading is available.
Any inadvertent appearance on the screen of anything approximating pornography is to be immediately removed. Any deliberate attempt to access sexually explicit locations will result in a banning from use of the system and an appearance before the Dean of Students for disciplinary action. The on-duty librarian's perception of what is acceptable and what is not will prevail.
The Computer Lab is open for students, faculty, and staff for personal computing needs.
Printing
FULL-TEXT PRINTING of documents will be at the rate of 10 cents PER PAGE to be paid at the circulation desk.
Security
Security System: The Library collection is guarded against unauthorized borrowing by the presence of an electronic surveillance system. All attempts to bypass the system will be treated as disciplinary matters. Inadvertent infractions will result in a request to return to the circulation desk where the necessary checkout procedures will be followed. The Library reserves the right to examine the contents of book bags, brief cases, etc.
