  • Ozark Christian College has been thoroughly committed to the core concepts of Information Literacy (IL) since its founding in 1942. OCC has always desired to graduate life-long, information literate Bible students for the work of Christian ministry.
  • A simple definition for IL: "The ability to know when there is a need for information, to be able to identify, locate, evaluate, and effectively use that information for the issue or problem at hand."
  • More specifically, OCC wants to prepare biblically literate graduates, ones who have internalized "The ability to exegete and apply the inspired Word of God accurately for the evangelization of the lost and the edification of the saved." The core values of the college embody the goals of IL with a Christ-centered emphasis. See the glossary for some of the key IL terms that faculty and students need to know.  OCC has implemented a proactive plan regarding Information Literacy.
