The Salvation Army Camp Mihaska
Camp Mihaska is a retreat and conference center that we bring at risk youth to for ten weeks in the summer. MISSION The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination. PURPOSE The purpose of The Salvation Army camping ministry is to provide opportunity for campers to explore God’s Word, God’s World and God’s Way. The fact that The Salvation Army is a religious organization makes it possible for its camping program to integrate concern for the spiritual dimension of life. Actually, this is at the very heart of and the motivating factor for the Army’s camping ministry. We believe in God, His written Word inspired by Holy Spirit and the pattern of living exemplified by Jesus Christ. The Salvation Army seeks to meet the holistic needs of campers. Participation at camp provides opportunity for campers to develop good health habits in cleanliness, proper rest, exercise and balanced diet. Participation at camp will give opportunity for each camper to contribute to and receive from a group living experience. Participation at camp will encourage campers to make better personal choices for community living, stimulate creativity and foster independence.
