The Point Church's mission is to point people to Jesus. Our vision is to plant 30 churches in the next 15 years through making disciples that disciple others and planting churches that plant churches. It has been five years since our first grand opening and at the end of March we planted our 6th campus. The Point Church is unique in the fact that each campus has their own staff (campus pastor, kid point director, student campus director and worship team) we all come together as one church family. We want to reach each community specifically and well our goal in achieving this is for each of our campus' to have an espanol service and care pantry.

Job Summary

This College Ministry Resident will be focused primarily on College Ministry but the residency will be integrated into the larger Family Ministry of the church as well. Primary Responsibilities: 1. Worship Services – we want our worship services to be a place where college students are welcomed and build relationship with our college leaders and other students. Worship is the first step on our discipleship path. The goal is to help students go from being involved in the worship service to deeper levels of commitment with Christ and the Church. One we want to accomplish this is through having a college table/area where students can easily hang out, connect, and get plugged in. 2. Outreach – we want to be on campus bringing Jesus to students who are far from God. The Resident is responsible for doing one outreach event on campus every other week. 3. Community Building – We would to have a group of students go out to lunch each week after the worship service. We want to help organize events like game nights, camping, day trips to the beach, tail gaiting at football games etc... 4. Life Groups – We want to start at least one and hopefully multiple college Life Groups that meet one night a week to eat, share, study the word, and pray together. 5. Integration into the Life of the Church – We want our college students to serve in the life of the church in our Kid’s Ministry, Student Ministry, Greeting, Café, Ushering, Worship Team, and Set UP and Tear Down team. Serving is a great way to help college students build meaningful relationships with other demographics in the church. 6. Global Mission Trip – We would love for the Resident to organize and lead our first ever college mission trip overseas to either India or the Dominican Republic during the summer of 2016. The College Ministry Resident is expected to be a part of the Family Ministry. The Family Ministry consists of the Kid Point, Student and College Ministries. The Family Ministry shall have the vision that they are all a part of ONE ministry not separate ministries. Other responsibilities: 1. Participate in the life of the church: i.e. Life Group, Core Group, Worship, giving of time, treasure (10% of income) and talent. These things are expected of every staff member and must be modeled. 2. Participate in all scheduled staff meetings and staff development times. 3. Continue honing of ministry skills. 4. Integrate College ministries with the rest of The Point Church. 5. Have duties completed in a timely manner as set by the Lead Pastor. 6. Agree to and support The Point Church statement of faith as stated in the church’s by-laws. 7. Abide by budget allocations. 8. Report monthly the status and health of assigned College ministries. 9. Making sure that you are spending time daily in prayer and studying God’s Word so that you can be in a position to lead others out of a growing relationship with Christ. 10. Other duties as assigned. Skills: 1. Ability to articulate his/her own faith and the foundational principles of Christianity 2. Good knowledge of Scripture and the ability to communicate it. 3. Have love for people, some understanding of the culture of our community and the willingness to keep learning. 4. Ability to reach and disciple people for Jesus Christ not only in the church but in the community as well. 5. Ability to train and lead volunteers in team ministry. 6. Ability to do cross cultural ministry. 7. Ability to work well with others. 8. Ability to maintain positive speech and attitude. 9. Ability to believe the best about others. 10. Ability to avoid gossip and to resolve conflict Biblically (Matt 18:15-17)
