Cookson Hillls is situated on 1000 acres and offers an onsite accredited school, professional counseling, equine therapy and recreational opportunities for children in need of out of home placement. We are seeking married Christian couples who want to share their home with children from hard places. Experience with at-risk children is helpful, but not required. Extensive training, ongoing education, and professional support is provided. Forming and modeling healthy family-style relationships with others is what this work is all about. Mentoring and shepherding children through hard times is what we do. Children are cared for in a Christian family home and community and are given the opportunity to address the residue of trauma and become proficient in self-discipline, responsibility, interpersonal relations and wise decision making. Applicant Requirements

The successful candidates will be married 3-5 years, be 21 years or older,and have a minimum of a high school diploma. Houseparents are responsible for maintaining a healthy family environment for children placed in the home and provide love, structure, and discipline while meeting the daily physical, emotional, spiritual, relational and educational needs of children in care.
