Job Summary

The primary purpose of the Youth Minister is to introduce young people to Christ; to disciple them in spiritual growth; to train them in serving Christ with their life. Develop the youth so that they grow and maintain a faith of their own, not just of their parents. Of equal importance is to assist parents or guardians in raising their teenagers to a wholesome maturity. Finally, to possibly oversee and support the activity of each Christian Education/Youth program.

Applicant Requirements

An mature immersed believer with a personal and growing relationship with Christ. Shows a faithful pursuit of leadership characteristics as listed in 1Timothy 3:1-7. Sees their position as having a strong desire to serve God in the position. A graduate of a Bible college or Christian liberal arts college with a degree in Theology, Christian Education, or Youth Ministry. a thorough knowledge of Bible is essential. A master’s degree or working towards one is preferred. Knowledgeable and skilled in the philosophy, psychology and principles of Christian education. Five (5) years of experience preferred in an established successful youth program. Demonstrates a genuine love for young people and maintain a good rapport with them. Sensitive to needs and pressures of teens with a knowledge of possible solutions. Able to recruit, teach, train, and disciple youth workers. Subscribes to the doctrinal statement of the church and the church bylaws. Become a member of the church as soon as possible. In good physical and mental health. Able to exercise initiative and judgment as an independent worker. Possess organizational and administration abilities. Able to respond to changing needs throughout the daily and weekly schedule. Has a passion for evangelism and outreach and is gifted in youth ministry.
