  • Tulip Street Christian Church, Mitchell, Indiana (Lead Pastor) submitted on 5/7/2015 1:56:49 PM
Tulip Street Christian Church is trusting God for a Lead Pastor who is a man of integrity, a visionary leader, a servant-leader, an inspiring and compelling communicator, and a man of prayer. As a man of integrity, the Tulip Street church family desires a man who exemplifies the 1 Timothy 3 profile of a pastor. This is a man who loves God, loves his family, and delights in spending time in prayer and study of the Scriptures. We are asking the Lord for a humble and gracious man, who will place his family ahead of the “urgency” of ministry, but who faithfully and boldly embraces the significance of shepherding all of God’s people. As a servant-leader he should be aware of his own gifts, temperament, strengths and weaknesses, and be confident in his calling. He must be filled with the Holy Spirit and possess a God-anointed gifting to lead through exhortation, teaching, and by example (1 Timothy 4:6-16). As a visionary leader he must be capable of guiding an established team of pastors, staff and committed volunteers in fulfilling our vision of “Everyone Becoming the Hands of Feet of Jesus”. He must embrace and promote the mission of Tulip Street: “Impacting Our World for Christ”. He must be willing and able to define, accept and deepen the unique calling of our Church, as he seeks God’s vision for how Tulip Street is to embrace and extend the Kingdom work in our community and beyond. We value a man who is approachable as a spiritual leader and one who can identify with the joys and sorrows of our congregation. We seek a man who demonstrates a personal and growing relationship with God. As one of the leaders of this church, he should make his first priorities to pray and hear from God by earnestly seeking His Word and then, empowered by the Spirit, preach the truths of God based upon a clear understanding of the Scripture. Biblical preaching will equip our church for the work of the ministry and inspire a growing passion to reach the lost, the disillusioned and the disconnected in our community. Qualifications and Experience: Since he will take the primary role in leadership, team building, vision casting and preaching, previous experience in a multi-staffed congregation is also very important. Clear evidence of fruitfulness stemming from previous leadership roles within the Christian and/or business communities and the church should be present. An awareness of our culture and the ability to speak effectively to the issues of our time from a Biblical worldview are necessary. It is vital for our Lead Pastor to agree with the stated mission, vision, core values and ministry style of Tulip Street, and it is expected that he would continue to help define and articulate these values as God draws our church into an awareness of our Kingdom role. Organizational Relationship: Our leadership philosophy is that TSCC will be led according to the Biblical teachings on Pastoral Eldership as best expressed by Alexander Strauch in his work Biblical Eldership. The Lead Pastor will also serve as an Elder of Tulip Street Christian Church, and as such must meet the biblical requirements of Elder, as taught in Scripture and outlined in Strauch’s Biblical Eldership. He will be the spiritual leader for the team of elders, pastors, staff, and core ministry leaders, as well as for the church family. Lastly, the Lead Pastor is accountable to the Elders. Vision and Leadership: The Lead Pastor, with assistance from the Elders of TSCC, will oversee the process of evaluation and aligning of all church ministries with the broader vision of the church in an atmosphere of excellence. He will lead the church in innovation and change. He must encourage and nurture individual staff members, oversee the spiritual health of each, and assist the Elders in managing the Equipping Staff Team. Teaching and Preaching: The Lead Pastor is the primary teacher at Tulip Street Christian Church. He will provide a balance of Biblical exposition and cultural relevance in order to promote the spiritual growth of the congregation in light of contemporary issues. His primary focus will be to hear from God, discern and articulate what obedience to the Word of God means and lead by example. It is expected that the Sunday morning message will prove to be a source of challenging encouragement to all who hear it; to that end, the Lead Pastor will engage interested parties in an ongoing conversation in hopes of pointing them toward Kingdom maturity. In his absence the Lead Pastor will ensure that doctrinal consistency is maintained by other gifted speakers. Personal Growth and Renewal: Our Lead Pastor will need times for prayer, renewal, reading, and research for both personal and church benefit. The Elders will insist that the Lead Pastor retreat for a regular personal Sabbath Time, either spending 4 hours each week, or 1 full day every two weeks seeking solitude for the maintenance and fostering of spiritual transformation and restoration in his own life. This Sabbath Time is to be considered part of the Lead Pastor’s usual work duties, and will be compensated as such. Other times of retreat may be scheduled in consultation with the Elders. He will be encouraged to attend personal and professional development conferences that will enable him to grow in performing his duties. A spiritual mentor for accountability and encouragement is recommended.

  • Prince Ministry in South Africa, Bulge River, South Africa (School Teacher) submitted on 4/30/2015 2:33:02 PM
Depending on how many teachers we can get, the job includes pre-school up to seventh grade. The teacher will need to teach multiple grade levels. We currently have 15 children spread out through those grades. You would be starting from scratch to establish the curriculum and schedule of the school. Teachers need to have the patience of a saint, as our children have bad backgrounds and tend to be far behind their peers. We don't have a job description at this point. We are not teachers and don't know what the requirements would be.
