Health and Wholeness

  • Counseling

The Life and Ministry Preparation Center (LAMP) disciples and mentors students in one-on-one, small group, and seminar contexts. Directors Randy and Julie Gariss equip students with greater personal wholeness and relational health for a lifetime of effective ministry. For more information, contact Randy or Julie Gariss.

OCC also offers confidential pastoral counseling services to all current OCC students. For counseling needs beyond the scope of pastoral counseling, clinical counseling may be arranged with a professional counselor. To make an appointment with a counselor, contact Andy Storms.

  • Life Groups

Each week, OCC students come together for mentoring groups and life groups. Led by Ministry Center Director Kevin Greer, these small groups are facilitated by OCC staff, faculty, and upperclassmen. Weekly meetings offer students Christian accountability, community, friendship, and fun.

  • Health Services

OCC Health Services facilitates and promotes health and wellness of Ozark Christian College students.

Health Services provides healthcare advice 7 days a week via email at [email protected]. The Richardson Health Center is located below the OCC Bookstore and offers COVID, strep, and urine testing, first aid, medications for minor illness, and treatment for minor orthopedic issues. Students who need further treatment are referred to a local emergency department, urgent care, or primary care provider.

Health Services is coordinated by Molly Shifferd, RN, NP. Health Center visits are available by appointment only. Contact Molly Shifferd at [email protected] for healthcare advice or to schedule an appointment.

Ozark is a community honoring the principles of biblical teaching on sexuality. Community members are required to affirm and abide by the biblical teaching that God intends sexual activity to take place within the bond of a monogamous heterosexual marriage.

OCC will not tolerate sexual harassment, sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, or stalking (collectively “Sexual Misconduct”). College officials will take seriously any report of sexual misconduct and take immediate steps to investigate, prevent its recurrence, address its effects, and prohibit retaliation.

All members of the OCC community have the right to submit a complaint or raise concerns regarding sexual harassment under Title IX Policy without fear of retaliation. To submit a complaint or raise concerns regarding sexual harassment, contact the Title IX Coordinator or Deputy Title IX Coordinator.
