GB 460 - Introduction to the Gospels

The course covers the historical background of the Gospels, historical critical issues concerning Christ and the Gospels, and special introduction to each of the Gospels. Students will learn about the history of the intertestamental period, the search for the historical Jesus, critical methodologies for studying the Gospels (including source criticism, form criticism, redaction criticism), related issues such as the Gnostic gospels, and critical background information for each of the Gospels. The class is conducted by lecture and class discussion. (Also available as a reading/independent study GB 460R)
