On-Campus Jobs
If you wish to apply for a job on campus, you must first contact the supervisor
of the department in which you wish to apply. You will also need to fill out a
Student Employment Application in the Business office when you arrive on campus
for enrollment.
It is also a good idea to write a letter before arriving on campus to let the
supervisor(s) know that you are interested in working in a particular job.
Doing so gives you a better chance of getting the job you're interested in.

Student Employment Program
OCC is happy to offer you an opportunity to work on campus. Many jobs that do
not require a full-time employee are available. It is helpful to us to have
students fill these jobs. Our students are usually dedicated and hard workers.
OCC isn't the only one that gains from this arrangement. Advantages to our
students include the convenience of working on campus, which saves time and
expense in travel, and our willingness to work around your class schedules.
Christian coworkers create a spiritual work atmosphere. You will receive a
minimum wage salary. However, the College is not required to withhold FICA
while classes are in session. Off-campus employment is required to withhold
FICA; therefore, you would need to earn about 6% more than minimum wage to
equal the same amount on your paycheck in comparison to employment at OCC.
This program is designed to help you pay for your education. To help you do
this, at least 50% of the salary earned must be applied to any account owed in
the Business Office or Book Store. This arrangement is also an advantage to
both you and the College because your account gets paid as quickly as possible,
and important work for the college is accomplished. When all amounts owed OCC
are completely paid, you will receive the full amount of your paycheck if you
so desire.
We would be pleased to have you as one of our many on-campus employees.
