Meredith began his work at Ozark on August 1, 1967 as a faculty member in the music department.   He taught some music classes, piano and band.   Out of the band was formed the OCC Brass Choir that traveled on weekends playing for revival meeting and Sunday services in churches in the four state area.   After two years, in 1969, singers were added and the name was changed to Impact Brass and Singers.   The group also added some drama/comedy to their music and started presenting full-length message presentations.

In 1970 Impact added a sound system and were thus able to do vocal numbers with brass back-up.   Impact took its first summer tour in 1971 traveling to the Midwest and eastern United States.   In 1972 three 5' X 7' screens were added and later two more that gave them five screens to show pictures on during the performances to illustrate the message.

Meredith directed the Impact Brass and Singers for nineteen years until 1986 along with continuing to teach some music classes.  During that time Impact traveled coast to coast and to Alaska, Hawaii, Jamaica and Canada giving up to 120 performances a year.   Impact also made many recordings during this time.  Following Impact Meredith took on duties in the recruitment area and later in public relations and alumni areas.   He presently is OCC Director Publications and Conventions.

He grew up in Ottawa, Kansas and graduated from high school there in 1957.   He holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Phillips University in Enid, Oklahoma, and a Master of Music Education degree from Wichita State University, Wichita, Kansas.   He and his wife, Heather, have three grown sons, Mark, Brian and Nathan.
