Gerald is from Memphis, TN, but has lived in the Joplin area since 1975. He married Sally (Hermann) in 1978. He and Sally have a daughter, Bethany Grimmett, and a son, Micah. Bethany lives in Joplin with her husband, Clint and the Griffins’ granddaughter, Lillian Ruth and grandson, Caleb Michael. Micah lives in Seneca with his wife, Tiffany and the Griffins’ grandson, Hunter William.

Prior to joining the OCC faculty full time in July of 2001, he served for 20 years as the Preaching Minister with the Racine (MO) Christian Church. During that time he taught a few semesters for OCC on a part-time basis. The Griffins are still members of the Racine Christian Church, where Griff leads a weekly home Bible study..

Griff’s hobbies include playing the guitar (badly), singing (privately), and pulling for the St. Louis Cardinals. Griff has had articles published in various publications, including Christian Standard, The Lookout, Preaching Magazine, Restoration Herald, and The Evangelical Visitor.

This school year Griff is teaching History of Ancient Israel, Speech One, Personal Evangelism, and Hebrews.
