Luke Everett To Speak On Campus

"Hearing Everett" is a movie that describes the life journey of the Everett Family as they moved to Mexico and established one of the first deaf residential schools in Northwest Mexico, in the late 1960's. Rancho Sordo Mudo or RSM is the school that was established. The youngest son is deaf and has now grown up to become the director of the school. Luke Everett, director of RSM, will be speaking at OCC during class times at 9:00 and 11:25 on Tuesday morning, October 30, in the Chapel room C12.

The movie with a question and answer time will be Tuesday evening at 7 pm in the Library room L14. The movie is in spoken English and captioned in English. Everett communicates using spoken English/Spanish and American Sign Language and Mexican Sign Language. Deaf people are welcome and an ASL interpreter will be present.

This special program will be of interest to those interested in other countries/languages as well as those who serve on committees working with international connections. There is no charge for this event.
